Josh Neeley | Founder and Principal of FineRoot

Josh Neeley / Principal

Josh Neeley is a California contractor/woodworker and founder of FineRoot and The FineRoot Project.

With over 15 years of experience in the building trades, Josh has developed a unique style and vision that is dedicated to the creation of well-crafted items and functional design. Josh believes in the power of a team and is no stranger to assembling some of the most talented in the business. In his 8+ years leading Paxton Gate’s Design/Build team, he had a hand in some of the Bay Areas finest restaurants, most notably Flour + Water, Central Kitchen, Le Marais and the Third Rail Bar, as well as numerous backyard utopias.

Josh is also dedicated to the environment and believes that companies have a social responsibility to give back and support the communities in which they thrive. That idea is woven into the fabric of everything FineRoot creates. FineRoot and it's partners donate a minimum of 1% of their time and profits to the environment and their communities.

Josh is an avid runner and when he’s not building, you can find him late night or early morning running through the hills of his neighborhood parks. He also volunteers much of his time to local charities and non-profits. He lives in San Francisco with his wife Rachel and their two young boys, Sawyer and Hayes. He hopes to one day not feel awkward when reading his own bio.
